Olympic Games: Olympic Club
Event / Hospitality / Interior Design
Overview
The Olympic Club, reserved for VVVIPs, presidents and other high functionaries is typically the most exclusive hospitality available during the Olympic Games.
During the Tokyo Olympics 20202, eventually executed in 2021, the level of hospitality had to be adjusted to serve the pandemic conditions. Nevertheless, where budget allowed, the plans were executed as is, simply at a smaller scale.
Needs & Challenges
The core of my work was to align the interior designer and the render producing company and source materials and furniture to fit the overall style.
In order to do this, an extensive list and floor map collection was created that would map every item and match them against several existing products.
The main challenge here was that the time differences between updated renders and interior design instructions kept on changing.
Furthermore, there were several permission issues that needed to be solved including amount of burnable material per room, room capacity and others.
Outcomes
Comparison between renders and final outcomes.
While there are definitely large differences in this area, the budget and plan restrictions considered, and I myself having been absent already, I am happy to see that plans were largely followed and adhered to.
