Needs and Goals
Sustainability Seminar 2022 was meant to be a complete overhaul of the Sustainablity format. This meant that not only was there a new branding template available, but that the branding of the event itself needed to be completely updated, at the same time that the quality of the event overall needed to be upgraded in both content as well as production.
Design and Challenges
As a first step, benchmarking was done to understand where the old event was successful and where improvements compared to other corporate events and livestreams were locatable.
Looking at the previous event, glaring oversights could be located, while at the same time the benchmarking allowed us to create a common goal with the client.
Having agreed with the client that a mixture of angled shots with bokeh, as well as a backdrop background would be used, I continued to mock-up many different versions of the space that would be built in Nissan hall.
During this phase, we also verified each camera position and the framing of every single speaker.
Having checked this, the client agreed that the gradient provides the most beautiful and clean framing of each panelist, as each of them gets their own background color, just like the IBM Think event.
Having agreed on a gradient, the exact coloring was simulated.
Having all these parts assembled, I created a full program simulation and running order completely in the rendering program, to brief the production team on everything from content to camera angles and focus.
Of course, in the previous year the forced and overfilled livestream screen layout was also improved.
Outcome
In order to illustrate the success of this project, not only having completely overhauled the brand, upgraded the quality of the event overall and then finally having executed it exactly as planned, I will show a series of renders compared with the final actual result in the livestream. (Left: render, right: actual photo; will show simply in sequence on mobile devices)
Finally, some other impressions and the link to the actual video.
